Individual Therapy
You deserve a space where you can be honest about what you’re carrying, feel supported without judgment, and be challenged with care.
My approach makes room for both processing your experiences and actively working toward change. I offer personalized online therapy for individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. As an EMDR-trained therapist and certified personal trainer, I bring a mind–body perspective to our work, integrating psychotherapy, somatic awareness, mindfulness, and practical skill-building.
Together, we explore how past experiences, beliefs, relationships, and physical stress responses influence your present. I ask thoughtful questions, gently challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and help you practice tools for emotional regulation, boundaries, communication, and navigating difficult moments. Your goals and readiness guide the pace, with opportunities to apply what you learn between sessions.
I also recognize that distress does not happen in isolation. Discrimination, financial pressures, workplace demands, unequal access to resources, and other systemic barriers can profoundly affect wellbeing. Our work acknowledges those realities without placing the responsibility for overcoming them entirely on you. We explore what is within your influence, where support or advocacy may help, and how to protect your wellbeing within systems that may not adequately support your needs.
My intention is for you to feel understood while developing greater awareness, practical skills, and confidence in your choices.
Online therapy is available to clients in Illinois and California. Self-pay sessions are $175. Blue Cross Blue Shield is accepted for Illinois clients; coverage and out-of-pocket costs vary by plan.

Meet Angela DiRocco
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois and California, an EMDR-trained therapist, and a certified personal trainer. Over the past 15 years, I’ve provided therapy in community mental health, schools, and private practice, supporting children, teens, and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and difficult life circumstances.
Working with systematically underserved communities, particularly with youth in schools, has deeply shaped my values and clinical perspective. I’ve seen how access to resources, discrimination, financial strain, and institutional barriers affect people’s choices and wellbeing. I’ve also supported individuals navigating harmful workplace cultures and pressures that can remain hidden behind professional success. These experiences inform my commitment to culturally responsive care that considers both a person’s inner experience and the conditions surrounding them.
Across settings, I’ve noticed a recurring disconnect: people may understand their experiences intellectually yet struggle to recognize what they feel in their bodies. Others have spent so long responding to immediate demands or ongoing adversity that slowing down feels unfamiliar or simply isn’t accessible. This understanding, alongside 10 years of experience in personal training, drew me toward integrating mind and body in my clinical work.
In addition to being trained in EMDR , I hold certifications in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I’ve pursued additional training in somatic therapy and enjoy incorporating parts work to help people understand their different needs, responses, and protective patterns.
I founded Best Intentions Wellness to bring these perspectives together through the framework of incorporating wellness in all aspects of : Body, Emotion, Spirit, and Thought.
My style is warm, supportive, and direct, grounded in curiosity about your experience and respect for the context of your life.
Outside of work, I love getting absorbed in a good book, exploring somewhere new, and coming home to my cats. Reading and travel feed my curiosity about people and the world, while time at home reminds me how much comfort there is in the everyday.
